Farm Hands is a community-sponsored microfunding program for farmers that is dedicated to supporting the growth and vitality of Charlotte’s agricultural community. It is a collaborative concept aimed at creating opportunities for Charlotte area farmers, fostering connections around the dinner table, and building awareness of the challenges that our farmers face.

Farm Hands raises money for Charlotte area farmers primarily through crowdsourcing. Area farmers have the opportunity to submit an application outlining their “big ideas,” from which a selected group will become finalists. These finalists deliver a short presentation during a community event, after which ticket holders vote for their favorite idea. Proceeds from ticket sales, along with donations, are then awarded to the winning finalist to fund that “big idea." Typically, all finalists take something back to the farm to help them grow their businesses.

Our goal is to eventually hold events throughout the year that connect local farmers with the community and to raise critical funds to keep our local food economy growing.

And to have some fun, of course.
